Sometimes, you may do things that are divisive, dismissive, or demoralizing without even realizing it. Though your intentions may be positive, the outcome of your words and actions may be harmful. But by intentionally leading outward in these situations, you can better connect with team members, treat them fairly, and enable them to flourish. Choose your words thoughtfully to build an inclusive work culture in which people are heard, valued, and connected—because change starts with you.

How To Break Down Barriers And Not Accept Limits.
Candace Parker is a two-time NCAA champion, two-time Olympic gold medalist and two-time WNBA champion. Parker knows what it takes to fight for your dreams. "Barrier breaking is about not staying in your lane and not being something that the world expects you to be," she says. "It's about not accepting limitations."
Created in 1926 by historian Carter G. Woodson and the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History to honor the achievements of African Americans to American history, Black History Month was originally held the second week in February as Negro History week — the same week as the birthdays of President Lincoln and Frederick Douglass. The event grew to a month-long celebration during the civil rights movement of the 1960s.
Each year since 1928, a theme is designated for the month in recognition of events and people that had a significant influence on African American history. The theme for 2022 focuses on the importance of Black Health and Wellness. This theme acknowledges the legacy of not only Black scholars and medical practitioners in Western medicine, but also those (e.g., birth workers, doulas, midwives, naturopaths, herbalists, etc.) who contributed significantly throughout the African Diaspora. The 2022 theme considers activities, rituals, and initiatives that Black communities have implemented to promote wellness.
